Review: Potensi Unsur Hara Limbah Kolam Lele terhadap Tanaman Sawi
Abstract
The effectiveness of using catfish pond waste for mustard plant growth still needs further investigation. The concentration of nutrients in the waste, if too high, can cause nutrient imbalances and potentially lead to toxicity for the plants. The objective of this research is to determine the effect of nutrient content in catfish pond waste on mustard plant growth, how this waste can be optimally utilized to increase plant productivity without negatively impacting the environment or harvest results. The research method used is a literature study, which is then analyzed based on Miles and Huberman’s approach, consisting of data collection, data processing, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results show that wastewater from catfish farming has the potential to be used as liquid organic fertilizer because it contains macro and micro nutrients beneficial for plant growth. Key nutrients such as nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), and potassium (K) play a role in improving vegetative growth, root development, and plant resilience against environmental factors. The research shows that using catfish wastewater can increase plant height, leaf count, and the fresh weight of mustard plants. Catfish wastewater can also be used in hydroponic systems as an alternative nutrient solution. Although catfish wastewater contains beneficial nutrients, the levels of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium are still below the standards for liquid organic fertilizer according to existing regulations. Additional processes such as fermentation or the addition of other materials are needed to optimize it as a nutrient source for plants.
