ETNOMEDISIN SUKU MANDAR DI DESA KAMPUNG BARU, KABUPATEN KOTABARU, KALIMANTAN SELATAN

Abstract


The Mandar tribe is an indigenous tribe that currently inhabits the western part of the island of Sulawesi. The Mandar tribe is also spread across South Kalimantan and mostly inhabits coastal areas in Kotabaru Regency. One of the areas where the majority of the population is the Mandar Tribe is Kampung Baru Village. One of the traditions that the Mandar Tribe still maintains is the use of plants in traditional medicine. The purpose of this study is to reveal the types of medicinal plants and plant parts that are used as medicine and to reveal how to use plant parts as medicine by the Mandar Tribe community in Kampung Baru Village. This study uses the Snowball sampling method, which is by visiting, interviewing key respondents in turn and collecting data from key respondents. Based on the results of the study, 17 types of medicinal plants were obtained that were used as traditional medicines. The advantage in this study is that the plant parts used by the Mandar Tribe community in Kampung Baru Village are leaves, roots, stems and rhizomes. The way to use plants as medicine by the Mandar Tribe community in Kampung Baru Village is by boiling it mixed with water to take the water, squeezed mixed with water to drink, then squeezed and mashed to be applied directly.
