Peningkatan Pengetahuan Tentang Pradiabetes dan Gaya Hidup Sehat sebagai Upaya Pencegahan Terjadinya Diabetes pada Kelompok Pekerja

Abstract


Pradiabetes menjadi deteksi awal dan pengembangan terjadinya diabetes mellitus tanpa gejala. Orang yang telah didiagnosa diabetes melitus dulunya tidak sadar kalau mengalami pradiabetes karena kurangnya pengetahuan/informasi atau memiliki pengetahuan yang sangat rendah. Resiko tinggi terkena pradiabetes kebanyakan pada pekerja kantor yang lebih banyak duduk daripada beraktivitas. Pradiabetes dapat dicegah dengan cara perubahan gaya hidup yang sehat. Sangat penting bagi semua orang khususnya pekerja kantor untuk mendapatkan informasi maupun promosi kesehatan supaya dapat mengadopsi perilaku sehat. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah meningkatkan pengetahuan tentang prediabetes kepada pekerja. Sasaran kegiatan diikuti oleh 14 guru. Model kegiatan adalah penyuluhan kesehatan, sebelum dan sesudah penyuluhan semua guru diminta untuk mengerjakan soal sebanyak 10 soal (pretest dan post-test) tentang pradiabetes. Kegiatan ini dilakukan pada tanggal 30 Maret 2022. Hasil pengabdian ini didapatkan para guru memiliki antusias dalam mengikuti kegiatan ini dibuktikan dari adanya peningkatan hasil pretest dan post-test selain itu banyak pertanyaan yang diajukan setelah penyuluhan. Simpulan pada kegiatan ini adalah adanya peningkatan pengetahuan tentang prediabetes dan gaya hidup sehat. Saran untuk kegiatan selanjutnya adalah deteksi dini dan intervensi seperti aktivitas fisik.

 

Prediabetes develops into early detection and increases diabetes mellitus non-symptoms. People with diabetes mellitus are unaware of prediabetes bygone because minimalize information or knowledge about prediabetes. People are working in offices more inactive, and they have a high risk. Prediabetes could prevent to change of behaviour to healthy behaviour. It is essential for everyone, especially working people, to get information and health promotion to adopt healthy behaviour. The social activity aims to increase knowledge about prediabetes among working people—teachers are an object of this activity. The activity model is health education. Before and after health education, teachers filled out pretest and post-test about prediabetes. The activity was scheduled for March 30, 2022. The teacher’s enthusiasm and the result of the pretest and post-test increased, and they asked after health education. The activity outcome was increased knowledge about prediabetes and a healthy lifestyle. The activity implies early detection and physical activity as changes in health behaviour.
