Pelatihan Pembuatan Black Garlic pada Pendamping Pasien Kanker di Yayasan Rumah Pejuang Kanker Ambu, Bandung
Abstract
The long cycle of cancer treatment affects the patient's mental and physical health and the caregiver's physical and mental health. Moral support is needed not only for cancer patients but also for patient caregivers. Patient caregivers still need to engage in social activities that motivate them to be more productive and self-confident while accompanying patient treatment. Based on these problems, a community service program was carried out with the theme of training and mentoring in making black garlic with the target of cancer patient caregivers at the Rumah Pejuang Kanker Ambu (RPKA). This activity aims to provide a meaningful social activity for patient caregivers so that they have social skills and can be more productive. The training and mentoring are carried out through lectures on general knowledge about black garlic and group assistance to practice making black garlic. The evaluation of the training was carried out by conducting a pre-test and post-test as well as an evaluation of the black garlic produced. From the results of this training and mentoring, it was found that there was an increase in the knowledge of the training participants regarding black garlic before and after the training, from 59.2% to 72.8%. All groups of trainees succeeded in making ready-to-eat black garlic.
