Perbedaan Aktivitas Superoksida Dismutase (SOD) pada Otak Tikus Putih (Rattus norvegicus) Akibat Rendaman Kadmium In Vitro
Abstract
Abstract: Cadmium is heavy metal shaped metal ions divalent non-essential that induces a toxic effect dangerous. Cadmium into the body, mainly the brain can lead to oxidative stress which that mediated by reactive oxygen species (ROS). ROS concentration in the brain regulated by superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity. SOD activity serves as enzymatic antioxidant to disorder caused by superoxide radical. This research is an experimental study that performed by making the brain of white rat homogenates than divided it int four groups: one control group (P0) and three treatment groups were exposed Cd (P1, P2, P3). The measurement results showed the average SOD activities in the group was P0 = 0.0129±0.0015, P1 = 0.0056±0.0008, P2 = 0.0034±0.0008 dan P3 = 0.0005±0.0003. the results of One Way Anova analysis, followed by Post-Hoc test, showed that there were significant differences between each treatment group.

Abstrak: Kadmium merupakan logam berat yang berbentuk ion logam divalent non-essensial yang menginduksi efek toksik berbahaya. Kadmium masuk ke dalam tubuh terutama otak dapat mengakibatkan stres oksidatif yang dimediasi oleh senyawa oksigen reaktif (SOR). Kadar SOR di dalam otak diatur oleh aktivitas superoxide dismutase (SOD). Aktivitas SOD berfungsi sebagai antioksidan enzimatik untuk gangguan yang diakibatkan oleh radikal superoksida. Penelitian ini bersifat studi eksperimental yang dilakukan dengan homogenat otak tikus putih (Rattus norvegicus) yang dibagi menjadi 4 kelompok yaitu satu kelompok kontrol (P0) dan tiga kelompok perlakuan yang dipajankan Cd (P1, P2, P3). Hasil pengukuran menunjukkan rerata aktivitas SOD pada kelompok P0 = 0.0129±0.0015, P1 = 0.0056±0.0008, P2 = 0.0034±0.0008 dan P3 = 0.0005±0.0003. Hasil analisis uji One Way Anova yang dilanjutkan dengan uji Post-Hoc menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan bermakna disetiap kelompok perlakuan.
