ANALISIS MODIFIKASI SHELL-AND-TUBE HEAT EXCHANGER PADA PENGOLAHAN AIR LIMBAH PT. ANDALAN FURNINDO
Abstract
Heat exchanger pada proses pengolahan air limbah PT. Andalan Furnindo sering bermasalah.
Heat exchanger in the waste water treatment process of PT. Andalan Furnindo is frequently in trouble. Therefore, the authors try to modify the heat exchanger design on the tube, baffle, and estimated pressure drop in order to get better performance. The data processing starts from modifying the dimensions of shell diameter, tube diameter, shell length, tube length, number of baffles, number of tubes and type of fluid flow path. Linking the correlation between parameters with dimensional modifications that have been done so that the final result is the value of the heat transfer coefficient and pressure drop as desired. The results of design calculations with Dsid =1 m; di = 0,02 m; do = 0,025 m; length of shell and tube = 4.6 m; B=5; Nt=1176 and the flow path U is to produce Uc=683 dan Uf=569 ; =1691,3 Pa; dan =1276,6 Pa. By modifying the tube and shell diameter which is larger than the factory setting, it can facilitate the unit maintenance process in terms of cleaning dirt in the tube and in the shell. So that the performance is stable, the service life of the unit is longer, and the next maintenance time is properly scheduled.
