Author Guidelines
WRITING GUIDELINE OF BERKALA KEDOKTERAN
- BERKALA KEDOKTERAN is a journal of medical sciences and health which contain both original research articles and literature review.
- The manuscript is sent to the editor is an invention that has not been and will not be published elsewhere that has ISSN or ISBN.
- The manuscript can be a result of research and study of literature is enriched with ideas and insight to produce concepts / ideas or new ideas.
- The manuscript is written in Indonesian or English along approximately 15 quarto pages, single spaced with a margin of 2.5 cm and Times New Roman font, size 12.
- The identity of the author (name without a title) and address of the institution listed below the article title. The author's name is placed first as the lead author.
- Abstract written in English and Indonesia by the number of 100-150 words in 1 (one) paragraph. Abstract contains of: background, objectives, methods, results and conclusions; which is accompanied by by 3-5 keywords.
- Title of the manuscript need to be quite informative and should not exceed 12 words for Indonesian, and 10 words for the title in English. For the long title can be broken down into the main title and sub title.
- Systematic writing:
- The article of original research contains of:
- The title, author name and address of the institution, abstract, keywords,
introduction, methods, results and discussion, conclusion (may contain conclusions and suggestions or conclusions only), as well as references
- Non-research articles (a literature review) includes:
- The title, author name and address of the institution, abstract, keywords, introduction, sub chapters (in accordance with needs), conclusion (may contain conclusions and suggestions or conclusions only), as well as references.
- Tables and figures must be given the title as well as a clear explanation. Title table laid on the table, while the title of the picture is placed below the image.
- Writing referral system using superscript number (Vancouver style). Numbers prepared in accordance with the order of appearance in the text, for example:
........................... Already been reported 1
........................... According Havez 2
........................... Turner and Bagnara 3 have reported .........
- Literature arranged in numerical order according to the appearance in the text.
- For authors who are not customers, if the article has been processed and will be posted on this journal subscribers shall be a minimum of one year or pay an administration fee of Rp. 100,000.00 (one hundred thousand rupiah).
- The manuscript sent to the editor in print form three (3) copies and soft files are written in MS Word format emailed to Periodic Medical: jbk@ulm.ac.id accompanied by a covering letter, and put in a plastic envelope A4 size.
- Certainty loading or rejection of the manuscript will be notified in writing. Articles that are not published will not be returned, except at the request of the author, accompanied by sufficiently stamped envelope.

Submission Preparation Checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
- The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
- The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
- Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
- The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
- The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
- If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

Authors who publish this journal agree to the following provisions:
Authors retain copyright and grant the journal's first publication in collaboration with Creative Commons Attribution that allows others to share the work with recognition of the work's authorship and initial publication in this journal.
The author is able to perform an additional contract for the distribution of non-exclusive version of the publication Journal (eg, post it to an institutional repository or publish it in a book), under license from the beginning in this Journal.
Writers are not permitted to post their work online (eg institutional repository or their website) prior to and during the article submission process, as it can lead to the exchange of ownership of access rights.
Writers are not charged at the time of submitting articles online, but when the author will be charged Rp 250,000 per article when requesting a print version.
Authors can submit questions to the editor objection if within 4 weeks of no response from the editor of the Journal of Berkala Kedokteran

Privacy Statement
The articles published in this journal are scientifically proved, which follow the code of ethics in scientific publication. The code of ethics it self-upholds three values of ethics in publications, namely, (1) Neutrality (free from conflicts of interest in public management). (2) Justice (giving the right of authorship to the beneficiary as the author). (3) Honesty (free from duplication, fabrication, falsification and plagiarism (DF2P) in the publication. The articles published also following certain procedures or orders, such as double-blind review and revision process that consistent with the journal’s regular review, to ensure that the quality is maintained properly.

This journal charges the following author fees.
Article Submission: 0.00 (IDR)
Authors are required to pay an Article Submission Fee as part of the submission process to contribute to review costs.
Article Publication: 500000.00 (IDR)
If this paper is accepted for publication, you will be asked to pay an Article Publication Fee to cover publications costs.
If you do not have funds to pay such fees, you will have an opportunity to waive each fee. We do not want fees to prevent the publication of worthy work.
