Author Guidelines

  1. The manuscript submitted must be original and has never been published elsewhere.
  2. All manuscripts must be submitted to JURNAL BAHASA, SASTRA, DAN PEMBELAJARANNYA (JBSP) by Online Submission at journal portal.
  3. Click Register if you have not had any account yet, or click Log in if you have already had an account.
  4. The manuscript is typed in MS Word .doc format, using 12 size Book Antiqua fonts, 1 (one) spaced, margins (top 2.54, left 2.54, right 2.54, bottom 2.54) on A4 paper, minimum 8 pages and maximum 20 pages in length. Starting in January 2026, JURNAL BAHASA, SASTRA, DAN PEMBELAJARANNYA (JBSP) will use a new template for upcoming Issue. [Template]
  5. The manuscript can be written in English and Indonesian.
  6. The structure of research articles is as follows: title; author's name (without academic title); abstract (minimum 100 words and maximum 250 words) containing the objectives, methods, and results of the research; keywords; introduction containing the background and the objectives of the research; a brief literature review; methods; results; discussion; conclusion; and reference list (only including sources that are referenced).
  7. Title. The title must be clear and informative, written with Book Antiqua 14 font size and bold, a maximum of 20 words, spaced 1, middle and capitalization of each word.
  8. Author's names and institutions. The author's name is listed without an academic degree and placed under the title of the journal. Author affiliations ware listed under the name. Corresponding author are encouraged to enter email addresses to facilitate communication. The author's name, affiliation, and e-mail are written in Book Antiqua 12 font size, spaced 1.
  9. Abstract. Abstracts written in English (consisting of 100-250 words), containing the objectives, methods, results, and implication of the study. Each article in a scientific journal must include an abstract that is generally only one paragraph (not a summary consisting of several paragraphs) that is concise, clear, intact, and there are no references to literature, images, and tables. Written in font 11, Book Antiqua, space 1.
  10. Keywords. Keywords must consist of 3 to 5 words or phrases. Words or terms that reflect article content and are informative, written under abstract, Written in font 11, Book Antiqua, space 1.
  11. Introduction. The introduction contains the background, explains the phenomenon of the actual problem being studied, is supported by literature references and the results of previous related research that has been carried out alone or by others and explains the existence of research in that context. The introduction also contains the problem (preferably only one problem that is the focus of the research), the research objectives, the benefits of the research, and the theory used to solve the problem. All sources referenced or cited must be listed in the bibliography. Introduction without using subsection titles. Written in font 12, Book Antiqua, space 1.
  12. Literature Review. Literature review is the basis for thinking to find problems and references to find answers. A literature review is not just a collection of definitions of a term. The descriptions in this chapter use relevant, strong, sharp, and up-to-date references. The theory written in this chapter is the theory used in data analysis/discussion. The literature review can be written in sub-chapters while still considering the 15% quota of the entire body of the manuscript. All sources referenced or cited must be listed in the bibliography. Written in font 12, Book Antiqua, space 1.
  13. Method. This section explains how the research was conducted, consisting of the type of study, research subjects or population and research samples, data collection techniques or research instruments used and data analysis techniques. For research that uses tools and materials, it is necessary to write down the specifications of the tools and materials. Tool specifications describe the sophistication of the tools used while the material specifications describe the type of material used. Written in font 12, Book Antiqua, space 1.
  14. Results and Discussion. This section is the central part of the research article and is usually the longest part of an item. The discussion shows how the research objectives are achieved, describes and interprets the findings, integrates findings into existing knowledge, and constructs new theories or modifies existing theories. The research results presented in this section are "clean" results. The process of analyzing data such as statistical calculations and the process of testing hypotheses need not be presented. Only the results of the analysis and the results of hypothesis testing need to be reported. Tables and graphs can be used to clarify the presentation of verbal research results. Tables and figures must be commented or discussed. Written in font 12, Book Antiqua, space 1.
  15. Conclusion. Conclusions contains summary and suggestions which are answers to the questions contained in the introduction section. Consclusion is not a rewrite of the discussion and also not just a summary, but a brief delivery of answers to problems in the form of one or two whole paragraphs. The conclusion section also contains the limitations of the research and the implications of the research. Written in font 12, Book Antiqua, space 1.
  16. References. This section only includes paper, books, or other types of publications referred to in the body of the text. Quotes and references must strictly follow the APA (American Psychological Association) style 7th edition. Must use a minimum of 75% of the primary reference sources (national journals or international journals) of the last ten years of publication, minimum number of references is 15 sources, and minimum 5 articles referenced reputable international journal (such as Scopus or Web of Sciences). The references list is arranged in a way from the following examples and sorted alphabetically and chronologically.
  17. Please use Reference Manager Applications like EndNote, Mendeley, Zotero, etc.
  18. After the article has been accepted by the editor, the author must fill out the Copyright Transfer Agreement and send it back to the editor in softcopy format via email to [email protected].

 

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
