Landasan Sejarah Pendidikan Jasmani dan Olahraga Perkembangan dan Relevansi dalam Pendidikan Modern
Abstract
Landasan sejarah pendidikan jasmani dan olahraga, dengan fokus pada perkembangan dan perubahan perannya dari zaman kuno hingga saat ini. Pendidikan jasmani awalnya bertujuan untuk mempersiapkan fisik individu, terutama dalam konteks militer dan masyarakat. Namun, seiring berjalannya waktu, fungsinya meluas, mencakup kesehatan mental, sosial, serta pengembangan karakter. Melalui metode kajian literatur, artikel ini mengeksplorasi bagaimana evolusi pendidikan jasmani memengaruhi konsep dan praktik pendidikan modern, terutama dalam kaitannya dengan kesehatan fisik, kemampuan sosial, dan keseimbangan kehidupan. Kesimpulan menunjukkan bahwa pendidikan jasmani adalah bagian esensial dari pendidikan holistik yang harus terus diperkuat di era modern.
