Efek latihan pernapasan merpati putih dan latihan brisk walking terhadap kapasitas paru lansia
Abstract
Bertambahnya usia menjadi salah satu faktor penyebab menurunya kapasitas paru-paru. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu melihat efek latihan pernapasan merpati putih (LPMP) dan latihan brisk walking (LBW) terhadap kapasitas paru-paru pada lansia usia 60-80 tahun yang dikategorikan berdasarkan jenis kelamin. Metode Expost Facto dipilih sebagai metode penelitian ini. 28 orang lansia berusia 60-80 tahun dipilih sebagai sampel dengan lansia laki-laki 16 orang dan lansia perempuan 12 orang dari kedua kelompok yang telah melakukan LPMP dan LBW selama 1 tahun. Tes fungsi paru-paru menggunakan spirometer dengan parameter Forced Vital Capacity (FVC) dan forced expiratory volume 1 second (FEV1). Hasil penelitian ini didapatkan hasil, kelompok LPMP FVC lansia 2,89 L, (laki-laki 3,03 L, perempuan 2,70 L) dan FEV1 lansia 2,52 L, (laki-laki 2,78 L, perempuan 2,17 L). Pada kelompok LBW FVC lansia 2,70 L, (laki-laki 2,90 L, perempuan 1,94 L), dan FEV1 lansia 2,31 L, (laki-laki 2,72 L, perempuan 1,77). Kesimpulan penelitian ini bahwa latihan pernapasan merpati putih (LPMP) dan latihan brisk walking (LBW) menunjukan pengaruh positif dalam menjaga dan memaksimalkan kapasitas paru-paru pada lansia baik pada lansia laki-laki maupun lansia Perempuan. Selanjutnya Latihan Pernapasan Merpati Putih (LPMP) menunjukan hasil yang lebih baik jika dibandingkan dengan latihan brisk walking (LBW).
