Uji Aktivitas Antidiabetes Infusa Daun Salam (Syzygium polyantum) terhadap Mencit yang Diinduksi Aloksan

Abstract


Daun salam (Syzygium polyantum)merupakan tanaman yang mengandung flavonoid, saponin, dan tanin yang memiliki potensi antidiabetes. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengevaluasi aktivitas antidiabetes infusa daun salam (S.polyantum) terhadap mencit diabetes melitus yang diinduksi aloksan.Studi eksperimental melibatkan 30 mencit sebagai hewan uji, yang dibagi menjadi 6 kelompok. Kelompok 1 dianggap sebagai kontrol normal, dan kelompok 2-6 dikondisikan diabetes dengan aloksan subkutan 170 mg/kg BB. Setelah aloksan diberikan 48 jam kemudian, masing-masing kelompok diberi perlakuan sebagai berikut: aquades (kontrol negatif), glibenklamid 0,65 mg/kg BB (kontrol positif), infusa daun salam 10%, infusa daun salam 15%, dan infusa daun salam 20%. Perlakuan berlangsung selama tujuh hari. Glukometer digunakan untuk mengukur gula darah. Analisis variasi nonparametrik (Kruskal wallis) digunakan untuk memeriksa data kadar gula darah puasa. Hasil perlakuan menunjukkan kadar gula darah rata-rata dalam kelompok masing-masing sebesar 90,5 mg/dl (kelompok 1), 368 mg/dl (kelompok 2), 81 mg/dl (kelompok 3), 121,75 mg/dl (kelompok 4), 106,25 mg/dl (kelompok 5), dan 70,75 mg/dl (kelompok 6). Uji daya hipoglikemi berturut-turut dilakukan pada kelompok perlakuan berikut: 58,7% (glibenklamid 0,65 mg/kg BB), 42,2% (infusa 10%), 50,2% (infusa 15), dan 66,6% (infusa 20%). Sebagai hasil dari penelitian ini, dapat disimpulkan bahwa infusa daun salam memiliki sifat antidiabetes terhadap mencit yang diinduksi aloksan.

Bay leaf (Syzygium polyantum) contains flavonoids, saponins, and tannins, which can potentially be antidiabetics. This research aims to determine the antidiabetic activity of bay leaf infusion (Syzygium polyantum) toward alloxan-induced diabetes mellitus mice. This research was conducted experimentally using 30 mice divided into six groups. Group 1 was the normal control, and groups 2-6 were conditioned diabetes by subcutaneous allocation of alloxan 170 mg/kg BW. After 48 hours of alloxan allocation, each group was successively given the following treatment: distilled water (negative control), 0.65 mg/kg BW glibenclamide (positive control), 10% bay leaf infusion, 15% bay leaf infusion, and 20% bay leaf infusion. Treatment was given for seven days. Blood sugar levels are measured using a glucometer. Data on fasting blood glucose levels were analyzed using a nonparametric analysis of variation (Kruskal Wallis). The final results of measuring the average blood sugar level after the treatment were 90.5 mg/dl (group 1), 368 mg/dl (group 2), 81 mg/dl (group 3), 121.75 mg/dl ( group 4), 106.25 mg/dl (group 5), 70.75 mg/dl (group 6). The percentage of hypoglycemic power in the treatment group was tested successively as follows: 58.7% (glibenclamide 0.65 mg/kg BW), 42.2% (10% infusion), 50.2% (15% infusion), 66.6 % (20% infusion). This study concluded that bay leaf infusion had antidiabetic activity against alloxan-induced mice.
