The Effect of Matriconditioning Materials on Improving the Quality of Rice Seeds (Oryza sativa L.) Siam Mayang Variety

Abstract


Research on the effect of matriconditioning  on improving the quality of local rice seeds, the Siam Mayang variety, was conducted in Banjarbaru, from February to March 2023. This study used a completely randomized experimental design (CRD) with one treatment, namely matriconditioning materials consisting of 8 levels (m0 = soaked in water, m1 = 180 g scouring ash, m2 = 180 g husk charcoal, m3 = 180 g cocopeat, m4 = combination A (60 g scouring ash + 60 g husk charcoal + 60 g cocopeat), m5 = combination B (90 g scouring ash + 90 g husk charcoal), m6 =combination C (90 g scouring ash + 90 g cocopeat), m7 = combination D (90 g husk charcoal + 90 g cocopeat)).The results of the experiment showed that the matriconditioning treatment had a significant effect on growth simultaneity, but did not affect germination power, maximum growth potential, vigor index, or growth speed. The matriconditioning material that produced the highest synchrony og growth, at 20,00% in this  experiment, was the treatment combination of 90 g of rice husk ash + 90 g cocopeat.
