Abstract

Pakcoy (Brassica rapa L.) is a horticultural commodity that is continuously produced due to its high annual demand. Hydroponic pakcoy is prone to quality degradation, requiring proper post-harvest handling. Proper packaging and storage are essential to maintain the quality of hydroponic pakcoy. Research on the effect of various packaging types and the number of perforations on the quality of hydroponic pakcoy (Brassica rapa L.) at low temperatures was conducted in Banjarbaru in December 2024. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with two treatments consisting of 16 treatment levels. The first treatment was the type of packaging (p), OPP plastic, PS plastic, PE plastic, and HDPE plastic. The second treatment was the number of perforations (l), with no perforations, 2 perforations, 4 perforations, and 6 perforations. Observations were made by calculating weight loss, water content, color changes, organoleptic testing, and calculating packaging costs. The results showed that different packaging types and number of perforations had no significant effect on the quality of hydroponic bok choy stored at low temperatures. The best packaging type and number of perforations was OPP plastic + 2 perforations.
