Abstract


Biodiversity is a description of the ecosystem conditions of a place. Myrtaceae has been reported to have biological activity against pests or pathogens due to its essential oil content. This study aims to describe the diversity of Myrtaceae species in the area of PT Adaro Indonesia, Tabalong, Indonesia. The method used in this study was a field survey and data collection techniques using the plot method technique. The results of the study found as many as 8 species of the Myrtaceae family, namely Syzygium cumini, Syzygium samarangense, Syzygium sp., Syzygium pycnanthum, Syzygium malaccense, Syzygium polyanthum, Syzygium myrtifolium, Tristaniopsis merguensis. The diversity index value of the Myrtaceae family in PT Adaro Indonesia's mining area is H'=2.319, which is classified as medium. The results of this study can be used as a basis for conservation and revegetation considerations in the PT Adaro Indonesia mine area.
