SITUATIONAL LEADERSHIP STYLE IN IMPROVING THE PERFORMANCE OF EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION TEACHERS

Abstract


This study aims to describe and analyze the situational leadership style of the principal of Tunas Cahaya Kindergarten in Jorong District, Tanah Laut Regency. The approach used in this study is a descriptive qualitative approach. The results of the study indicate that the principal of Tunas Cahaya Kindergarten applies a situational leadership style effectively by adjusting his approach to the conditions and level of readiness of each teacher. The application of the telling, selling, participating, and delegating styles is carried out flexibly as needed. This leadership style has been proven to contribute to improving teacher performance, which is reflected in improved planning, learning implementation, and assessment of child development. Thus, a situational leadership style can be a strategic approach in improving the quality of early childhood education, especially in the context of schools with diverse teacher competencies.
