Dari Musik ke Awal Bahasa: Penyuluhan Asal Usul Instrumen Cajon dan Restorasinya di Komunitas Himpunan Mahasiswa

Abstract


Cajon adalah alat musik akustik berasal dari kotak kayu. Alat musik ini sebagai simbol perbudakan Afrika. Para budak dijualbelikan oleh Perancis, Inggris, Spanyol dan/atau Portugis. Mereka biasanya diperkerjakan di tanah jajahan Amerika Utara dan Selatan. Selanjutnya, dipopulerkan oleh seniman Portugis dan Spanyol. Di Indonesia, cajon sering dimainkan generasi muda atau mahasiswa, biasanya acara pentas seni atau penyalur hobbi bermusik saja. Ukuran cajon ini, sesuai dengan antropometri Indonesia. Komunitas Mahasiswa Himpunan FMIPA biasanya memainkan alat musik cajon, seiring dengan dies natalis. Terdapat cajon yang rusak karena umurnya kisaran 10 tahun lalu. Performance cajon ini rusak pada bagian alasnya dan bagian yang dipukul dengan tangan (slap). Kegiatan program kreativitas masyarakat (PKM) ini memperbaiki atau restorasi, dan memainkan ulang cajon ini. Metode structural equation modelling (SEM) digunakan untuk evaluasi restorasi dan performance musik akustik. Hasil tanggapan responden, secara berurutan sebagai berikut; sangat mengerti (5%), mengerti (65%), kurang mengerti (25%) dan tidak mengerti (5%).. Ringkasnya hasil restorasi menyatakan bahwa komunitas mahasiswa himpunan merasa puas dengan tampilan cajon yang kembali berfungsi dan kembali estetik.
