Pengenalan Teknik Dasar Bioinformatika untuk Meningkatkan Kompetensi Guru Biologi SMA: Studi Kasus di Kalimantan Selatan

Abstract


Guru biologi memainkan peran penting dalam mengajarkan dan mengaplikasikan bioinformatika di sekolah, karena dapat meningkatkan pemahaman siswa tentang konsep biologi modern dan aplikasinya pada masa mendatang. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan wawasan dan kemampuan guru mata pelajaran biologi SMA, khususnya di Kalimantan Selatan, melalui pelatihan teknik dasar bioinformatika menggunakan pendekatan case-based learning (CBL). Sebanyak 25 orang peserta (guru biologi) hadir dalam kegiatan tersebut, berasal dari 15 SMA yang ada di Kalimantan Selatan. Secara umum, kegiatan pelatihan berjalan dengan baik dan mendapat respon positif dari para peserta. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa wawasan dan kemampuan peserta kegiatan, yaitu guru-guru pengampu matapelajaran biologi SMA di Kalimantan Selatan, relatif meningkat secara signifikan. Namun, kegiatan lanjutan untuk mempelajari teori dan aplikasi bioinformatika dalam bidang biologi lainnya sangat diperlukan, terutama untuk meningkatkan kompetensi para guru biologi SMA tersebut pada masa mendatang.
