Penyuluhan Artifak Museum Lambung Mangkurat: Potensi De-Extinction Fosil Gajah Kalimantan

Abstrak

Museum bukan hanya tempat untuk koleksi artefak kebudayaan bangsa, tetapi juga tempat untuk artefak intelektual bangsa, atau tempat koleksi epistemologi intelektual bangsa. Sementara itu, ibu kandung kebudayaan adalah pendidikan. Museum Lambung Mangkurat adalah rumah bagi anak kandung artefak kebudayaan dan ibu kandung bagi pendidikan masyarakat Kalimantan ini. Nama Lambung Mangkurat sendiri, diambil dari putra seorang pedagang (kasta Waisya) keturunan etnis Keling, era kerajaan Mapapahit. PKM ini membahas temuan artefak bendawi (tangible), berupa fosil gajah kisaran 5000 tahun lalu. Fosil ini berperan strategis dalam projek pembangkitan spesies yang punah (de-extintion) pada masa depan. Pokok bahasan ini menjelaskan peristiwa sejarah tentang asal usul gajah kecil (hobbit elephant) yang ada di Kalimantan. Fosil gajah menjelaskan bahwa gajah Kalimantan adalah asli (indigenius) meski kolonial Inggris juga mendatangkan sebagai gajah introduser dari India. Program kreatifitas masyarakat (PKM) ini berupaya mengapresiasi terhadap temuan gajah Kalimantan di daerah Kabupaten Batola. Metode hermeneutika yang dielaborasi structural equation modelling (SEM) digunakan sebagai koleksi tanggapan responden generasi muda. Hasil evaluasi PKM ini adalah sebagai berikut; sangat mengerti (12,5%), mengerti (45%), kurang mengerti (30%) dan tidak mengerti (12,5%) terhadap 12 responden. Hasil PKM menyatakan bahwa generasi muda mengerti atas pentingnya temuan fosil gajah yang terhubung dengan perdagangan era kolonial Inggris di Kalimantan.
