Focus and Scope

Prabayaksa: Journal of History Education (PBY) highlights history education, learning, and historical science. This journal emphasizes the following elements

  1. Historical education focuses on educational issues such as curriculum development, educational values in historical events, figures, and heritage, and other matters related to improving the quality of history education in Indonesia.
  2. History learning includes history learning strategies, history learning methods, evaluation of history learning, textbook studies, and conceptual ideas regarding history learning.
  3. Historical science covers all fields and periods in Indonesian history, relating to all aspects of history, including economic, social, cultural, and political.

Peer Review Process

All manuscripts submitted to this journal must follow the focus and scope, as well as the guidelines of the authors of this journal. Submitted manuscripts must discuss scientific benefits or novelty according to their focus and scope. All manuscripts must be free from plagiarism content. All authors are advised to use plagiarism detection software to perform similarity checks.

The Main Editor or Managing Editor assesses each new submission to determine whether it falls under the general authority of Prabayaksa: Journal of History Education. We will reject a manuscript without proceeding to the review process if it is insufficient in content, exceeds our word limit, or is in the wrong format, poorly presented, or unclear.

Articles published in this journal have gone through a process of substance and technical review by at least two double-blind reviewers. Peer-reviewed articles will be reviewed to see the suitability of page formats, images, tables, citations and lists of references as well as the systematics of making articles.

Review Results

The editor will make the final publication decision using feedback from the peer review process. The review process will take approximately 2 to 4 weeks. Decision categories include:

  1. Manuscripts are rejected; If rejected, they will not be published, and the author will not have the opportunity to resubmit the revised version of the manuscript to Prabayaksa: Journal of History Education.
  2. Resubmit for Review; The proposal needs to be reworked, but with significant changes, it is acceptable. However, that will require a second review.
  3. Accepted with Revised Manuscript The decision to accept-pending-revision will be published in Prabayaksa: Journal of History Education, provided minor/major changes are made. The editor will review revisions to ensure necessary updates are made prior to publication.
  4. Accepted Manuscripts; If the manuscript is declared accepted, it will be published in its current form without further modification.

 

Open Access Policy

The journal provides direct open access to its content.

 

Publication Frequency

Prabayaksa: Journal of History Education is published twice a year, in March and September. The articles are published collectively according to the publication schedule. Each issue will be published around 7 articles.

 

Screening Plagiarism

Editors will run a plagiarism check using Turnitin for submitted articles before submitting them to reviewers. If an article has more than 20% plagiarized content based on the inspection results, we will send the paper back to the author for revision. The editor will reject the manuscript if the article has more than 50% plagiarized content.

 

Archieving

All articles published by Prabayaksa: Journal of History Education have a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) to provide guarantees to authors regarding long-term archiving. With the DOI, all articles in Prabayaksa: Journal of History Education will not be affected by URL changes. The DOI Prefix of the Journal is 10.20527/pby, by Crossref. This Journal also permanently archives all articles in GARUDA, Dimensions, and Indonesia OneSearch.
