Abstract


The study is purposed to explore the final products warehouse management in the company and to suggest the optimal warehouse management by adding a new warehouse gate In this case study, primary data were compiled through warehouse observation and deep interview with related company staffs, while the secondary data were gathered from literatures and government reports. The Indofood CBP SuksesMakmur, Co.Ltd.isamong the largest foodand beverage industry in Indonesia. The Banjarmasin branch was established on December 18, 1992, at Jalan Yani km 32 Desa Liang Anggang, Kecamatan Liang Anggang, Kecamatan Bati-Bati Kabupaten Tanah Laut. The branch produces instant noodle which is branded as Indomie@, Sarimi@, and Sakura. They are distributed to South Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan and East Kalimantan. The warehouse releases final products into two groups which are designated for distributors and instit utions. Accordingly, the warehouse has tw o gates for both groups. Within these tw o gates system, the average of transport ingcar in the queue system is 3 cars who spend 64.13 minutes on average for the service. The average of waited transporter is 2 cars and they should wait A. 36.99 minutes on average for the next service. one additional gate is established, there are only two cars which spend 45.30 minutes on the queue system. Furthermore, only 1 car waits for 3.98 minutes for the subsequent service. Thus, by adding one extra gate, the service duration can be reduced from 11.39 hours to 541hours. As the service duration ofthe three gates systemis only 7 hours, the overtime workdecreases significantly.
