Author Guidelines

Thank you for your interest in Jurnal Ecopsy. Jurnal Ecopsy invites research articles in psychological science, particularly in the environmental psychology area and other branches of psychology related to environmental context. Jurnal Ecopsy uses an online submission procedure. Before completing the submission process, please prepare your manuscript following our guidelines. The manuscript content has not been published by any publisher or submitted for publication elsewhere.

(1)  The title page, this part should contain:

• Title in Bahasa Indonesia and English. The title should reflect the core content or phenomenon discussed in the manuscript and should contain no more than 20 words, with 10–15 words being preferable. For manuscripts written in English, the English title is placed first. 
• Full name of the author(s), with the corresponding author mentioned or marked.
• The name of the affiliated institution of each author.
• The institution address or personal information, including street, city, country, ZIP code, email, and telephone number according to the information required in the template.
• Word count.

(2) Main text, this part should be written in the following order:

• Title in Bahasa Indonesia and English, without personal information of the authors. The title should follow the title format specified in the Jurnal Ecopsy template.
• Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia and English should range from 150–200 words. Each abstract should be written in one paragraph, using single spacing and Times New Roman 10 pt italic. The abstract should contain the background, objective, methods, main results, and core conclusion. References and equations should not be included in the abstract.
• Keyword in five keywords below each Bahasa Indonesia and English abstract.
• Introduction. The Introduction should present the research background, problem statement, research objectives, relevant theoretical foundations, and hypothesis when applicable. The introduction should be concise and written in paragraph form. The theoretical review may use subheadings when necessary and should present the state of the art, unresolved issues or new developments, relevant previous studies, and the main theoretical points related to the research.
• Method. The Method section should explain the research approach and design, including whether the study uses a quantitative or qualitative approach. It should describe the participants, measurement or research instruments, procedure, and analysis technique. Information about the population, sample, participant criteria, and sampling technique should be provided. For research instruments, relevant information such as the number of items, examples of items, and reliability should be reported when applicable. Experimental procedures should be described in sufficient detail. For qualitative research, interviews, observations, data analysis, and validity procedures should be described according to the research design.
• Results. The Results section should present the findings of the research in accordance with the research objectives or hypotheses. Quantitative research should present relevant statistical findings, while qualitative research should present appropriate evidence, including interview findings or quotations. Results may be presented in paragraphs or subheadings when necessary. 
• Tables and figures should be presented immediately after they are mentioned in the text. Tables should use Arabic numbering, with the table title placed above the table in Times New Roman 12 pt bold. Tables should use Times New Roman 10 pt and single spacing and may be presented in one or two columns according to their size and content. Figures should use Arabic numbering, with the figure title placed below the figure in Times New Roman 12 pt. Figures should be arranged symmetrically and may be presented within one column or across the page according to their size. Figure captions should use Times New Roman 10 pt. Sources should be stated in the caption when an image is reused. Qualitative research diagrams should be included when relevant, and quantitative research may include figures presenting statistical calculations or findings.
• Direct quotations from qualitative interviews should follow the format specified in the template. Quotations longer than 40 words should be indented 1 cm from both sides and written in single spacing. Direct quotations shorter than 40 words should be enclosed in quotation marks and accompanied by an APA citation.
• Discussion. The Discussion should be presented separately from the Results. It should restate the answers to the research questions or hypotheses and explain the findings by relating them to relevant phenomena, previous studies, and theories. The Discussion should also describe research limitations and recommendations and should be supported by high-quality scientific journals, books, and other scholarly works.
• Conclusion. The Conclusion should be written in paragraph form rather than in bullet points. It should present specific and general conclusions and maintain consistency among the research problem, objectives, and conclusions. The conclusion should reflect the synthesis of the findings and the development of knowledge resulting from the research.
• Acknowledgement is optional. This section may be used to express appreciation to funders or individuals who contributed to the research or manuscript.
• References. The references should follow the American Psychological Association (7th edition) style. Primary sources published within the last 10 years are preferred. The manuscript should contain a minimum of 15 references, with at least 80% consisting of primary sources. References should be complete and include DOI information when available. Reference management software such as Mendeley, EndNote, or Zotero is recommended.
• Appendix is optional and should be placed at the end of the manuscript after the bibliography. Appendices may contain large tables, images, or other supplementary materials that support the research findings. References and Appendices should be placed after the Conclusion and should not be numbered.
• Subheadings may be used when necessary and should preferably not exceed three levels. Footnotes should not be used. Symbols and emblems should be presented clearly and consistently. Foreign terms should be written in italic, and abbreviations should be written in full at their first occurrence and shortened thereafter.
• AI Usage Statement. The use of artificial intelligence is permitted for limited purposes such as improving grammar, clarity, and readability. Artificial intelligence should not replace the authors’ intellectual contribution, interpretation, or scientific judgment. Authors remain responsible for the accuracy, originality, references, data, and conclusions of the manuscript. Substantial use of artificial intelligence should be disclosed. Artificial intelligence must not be used to create or manipulate data, results, references, or evidence. AI-generated images may only be used when they are part of the research method and their use is explained.

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

1. The submission manuscript has not been previously published or not being processed in the issue of a journal or other scientific publications to avoid redundant/overlapping publication.
2. File submissions must be in the form of program format OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect.
3. Text must have no more than 8000 words.

4. Articles are written to suit the format of the American Psychology Association (APA) 7th edition style format, including the format of references, citations, tables, images.

5. Manuscripts sent will pass Blind Review

6. The blind review process was undertaken to assess the quality of the manuscript. Therefore, the journal administrator will be deleted the author's identity (name, email address, and organizational information) in the text for the reviewer file.

Authors who publish this journal agree to the following provisions:

• Authors retain copyright and grant the journal's first publication in collaboration with Creative Commons Attribution that allows others to share the work with recognition of the work's authorship and initial publication in Jurnal Ecopsy.
• The author is able to perform an additional contract for the distribution of the non-exclusive version of the publication Journal (eg, post it to an institutional repository or publish it in a book), under license from the beginning in this Journal.
• The authors are not permitted to post their work online (eg institutional repository or their website) prior to and during the article submission process, as it can lead to the exchange of ownership of access rights.

Privacy Statement

The articles published in this journal are scientifically proved, which follows the code of ethics in a scientific publication. The code of ethics it self upholds three values of ethics in publications, namely,

(1) Neutrality (free from conflicts of interest in public management).

(2) Justice (giving the right of authorship to the beneficiary as the author).

(3) Honesty (free from duplication, fabrication, falsification, and plagiarism (DF2P) in the publication.

The articles published also following certain procedures or orders, such as double-blind review and revision process that consistent with the journal’s regular review, to ensure that the quality is maintained properly.
