EFFECTIVENESS OF FORUM GROUP DISCUSSION TO IMPROVE UNDERSTANDING OF CLASSROOM ACTION RESEARCH WRITING FOR ELEMENTARY SCHOOL TEACHER EDUCATION STUDENTS

Abstract


Classroom action research is important for elementary school teacher education students as prospective teachers to overcome problems that arise in the classroom during learning. Therefore, forum group discussion activities are one of the means to train and develop students knowledge and skills in writing classroom action research. This study aims to test and analyze the effectiveness of FGDto improve students understanding of classroom action research. The study used a pre experimental design method with a quantitative approach. The results of the difference test through the Wilcoxon test obtained a significant value of <0,05 which means that there is a significant difference between the pretest and posttest results, so it can be said that the implementation of FGDhas an effect on improving students understanding. The level of effectiveness of the discussion group forum was measured through the N-Gain calculation, getting a score of 0.5756 which is included in the moderate effectiveness category.
