The abstract should be brief and factual. It should inform potential readers about the study's purpose, methods, and results. Try to end the abstract with a conclusion. For this reason, References should be avoided; if important, cite the author and year. In addition, non-standard or uncommon abbreviations should be avoided, but if they are important, they should be explained the first time they are mentioned in the abstract. This abstract section should be typed in Arial 10 pt with single space and a maximum word count of 200 words. The abstract should only be typed in one paragraph and one-column format.
Keywords: For keywords typed in Arial 10 pt, list a maximum of 5 keywords separated by semicolons (;), must be in alphabetical order, using American English and avoiding general or plural words and multiple ideas. Only use commonly accepted abbreviations in the field. These keywords will be used to categorize and index the article. (example: Occupational Health and Safety; Hazardous Waste; Satisfaction). Check and confirm that the keywords are the most relevant terms found in the title or the abstract and should be listed in the medical subject headings (MeSH) list of Index Medicus found in http://www.nlm.nih.gov/mesh/meshhome.html.
A. GENERAL RULES
Journal of Public Health Publications Indonesia (JPKMI) is a scientific media that facilitates the publication of scientific works in public health, including Case Study, Original Research Article, and Review Articles.
Original research is the most common type of journal manuscript used to publish full reports of data from research. It may be called an Original Article, Research Article, Research, or just Article, depending on the journal rules. The original research article format is suitable for many different fields and different types of studies. It includes full Introduction, Methods, Results, and Discussion sections. Case study article is articles report specific instances of interesting phenomena. A goal of case studies is to make other researchers aware of the possibility that a specific phenomenon might occur. This type of study is often used in medicine to report the occurrence of previously unknown or emerging pathologies. It includes Introduction, Case Description, and Discussion section. Review article is providing a comprehensive summary of research on a certain topic, and a perspective on the state of the field and where it is heading. They are often written by leaders in a particular discipline after invitation from the editors of a journal. Reviews are often widely read (for example, by researchers looking for a full introduction to a field) and highly cited. Reviews commonly cite approximately 50 primary research articles.
All manuscripts submitted must be original work that has never been published in any media. Submitted manuscripts will go through a rigorous selection process, starting with a review by peer reviewers who have expertise in the field of study. The editor-in-chief determines the final decision on article acceptance through the Editorial Board forum based on input from the reviewers.
Authors must prepare the manuscript in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx) using A4 paper size (210x297 mm) with 25 mm margins on each side. The font used is Arial with size 11 pt, single-spaced, and written in one column, except for the article title, author's name, affiliation, abstract, and keywords. Manuscripts must be written in English and have a maximum length of 10 pages, including figures, tables, and bibliography. If the manuscript exceeds 10 pages, an additional publication fee of ± USD 3 (IDR 50,000) per page will be charged.
The structure of the manuscript is organized systematically and sequentially with the following components: (1) Article title that describes the content concisely and clearly, (2) Author's name without academic degree, (3) Author's affiliation indicating the institution of origin, (4) Correspondence author marked with an asterisk (*) and includes an email address at the bottom of the left column of the first page, (5) Abstract in two languages (Indonesian and English) with a maximum length of 250 words, which summarizes the objectives, methods, results, and conclusions, (6) Keywords arranged alphabetically and separated by semicolons, a maximum of six keywords.
The core sections of the article include an introduction that explains the background and purpose of the research; methods that outline the research design, location, sample, data collection, and analysis techniques; results and discussion that present the research findings and their analysis in the context of the relevant literature; conclusions that highlight the main results and, where relevant, practical suggestions; and acknowledgments (if applicable) and a bibliography. Each section should be written clearly and scholarly, reflecting high academic quality.
Figures, tables, and diagrams used in the article should be placed between the text, and if they are too large, they can be placed in the center of the page (one full column). Each figure is numbered sequentially using Arabic numerals and a clear caption below it, while tables are given a title and number at the top of the table. All visual elements must be able to stand alone and be easily understood without additional explanation.
Manuscript must use language that is standardized, systematic, and free from spelling or grammatical errors. Authors are also expected to adhere to scientific publication ethics, including avoiding plagiarism and including proper citations according to the referencing style specified by the journal.
B. ARTICLE STRCTURE
INTRODUCTION
The introduction is written sequentially and should contain a general background, a review of previous literature (state of the art) as the basis for the article's scientific novelty statement, a statement of scientific novelty, and a research problem or hypothesis. At the end of the introduction, the purpose of the article should be stated. In the scientific article format, it is not allowed to conduct a literature review as in a research report, but it is realized in the form of a review of previous literature (state of the art) to demonstrate the scientific novelty of the article.
METHOD
The research method describes the type of research, location and time of research, population and sample, sampling techniques, data collection techniques, data analysis, and data presentation. Research that uses tools and materials needs to write the specifications of the tools and materials used. Qualitative research such as case studies, phenomenology, ethnography, and others, need to add information to check the validity of the research results. Paragraphs begin with 10 mm indented words and should not use the organization of writing into "sub-headings" in this section. This section is presented in 1-2 paragraphs
RESULTS AND DISCUSSION
Results and discussion contain research/development findings and scientific discussion. Write down the scientific findings obtained from the results of the research that has been carried out but must be supported by adequate data. The scientific findings referred to here are not the research data obtained. The scientific findings must be explained scientifically including: What scientific findings were obtained? Why did that happen? Why is the trend of the variable like that? All these questions must be explained scientifically, not just descriptively, and need to be supported by adequate basic scientific phenomena. In addition, it must also explain the comparison with existing concepts and comparison with previous research, whether the research results are appropriate or not, better or not and other aspects. In this section we also suggest writing the implications of the research results, both theoretical and applied.
CONCLUSION
The conclusion is not a reiteration of the results and discussion but rather a summary of the findings as expected in the objectives or hypotheses. At the end of the conclusion, you can also write things that will be done that are related to further ideas from the research. Conclusions are expressed as paragraphs. Numbering or itemizing is not allowed in this chapter. Subchapters (e.g., A. Conclusion, B. Suggestion) are also not allowed in this chapter. Writing conclusions and suggestions using Arial 11pt(upright) with one space. Paragraphs begin with a word that protrudes 10 mm. Displayed in 1 paragraph.
REFERENCES
All references referred to in the text of the article must be listed in the Bibliography section. The bibliography must contain a minimum of 25 (twenty-five) reference libraries originating from 80% of primary sources (scientific journals, conference proceedings, research reference books) published in the last 5 (five) years. The writing format used in the Jurnal Publikasi Kesehatam Masyarakat Indonesia is in accordance with the American Psychological Association (7th ed.) Style format.
