Abstract

Critical thinking skills are one aspect of 21st century skills that students must have. Therefore, there is a need for textbooks that can train students to think critically. This research aims to test the effectiveness of ethnobotany textbooks for the Dayak community in the Tangkiling nature reserve to test the effectiveness of textbooks in training students' critical thinking skills. Research methods using the Tessmer model include self-evaluation, expert testing, individual testing, small group testing, field testing. The textbook validation test was carried out by three experts, the individual test was carried out by three students, the small group test was carried out by 5 students and the field test was carried out by 13 undergraduate Biology Education students at IAIN Palangka Raya. The research results showed that students' critical thinking skills increased and student learning outcomes scored 96% at the third meeting in the high category. The N-Gain result is 0.6 with moderate criteria and increases at each meeting.
