Etnobotani Kopi (Coffea Spp.) di Cigalontang Kabupaten Tasikmalaya Sebagai Bentuk Upaya Konservasi Masyarakat Lokal
Abstract
This study aims to determine the conservation efforts of local communities in Cigalontang through coffee ethnobotanical studies. The methods used are qualitative case studies, data collection by interviews, observation, and quadratic transects to the field. The results showed that in Cigalontang the community conservation effort system was applied in the practice of agroforestry coffee plantation plants with various shade trees with an important value index of species, namely pine plants as shade with a value of 131. The value of the important index of pine plant species is included in the criteria of good. Based on the value of the species importance index, pine trees have the highest value. This is due to its size and abundance, this area was also previously a pine forest developed with the addition of coffee trees. This shows that the existence of coffee shade plants has a positive impact on environmental conservation and coffee conservation to grow optimally. Pine plants can shade coffee so that it is protected from direct sunlight. In addition, air humidity and air temperature are maintained. There are 2 types of coffee cultivated in Cigalontang, namely Arabica coffee (Coffea arabica) and Robusta coffee (Coffea canephora). The most dominant coffee there is Arabica coffee (Coffea arabica).
