Environmental Sustainability Awareness dalam Konteks Food Waste: Analisis pada Mahasiswa Calon Guru Biologi
Abstract
The issue of environmental sustainability has become one of the most crucial global challenges of the 21st century. A crucial environmental issue is food waste. Education holds a central role in shaping awareness and responsible behaviour towards the environment. This study aims to map the level of environmental sustainability awareness among prospective biology teachers. The method used in this study is descriptive-quantitative. The research was conducted at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), Sriwijaya University in the odd semester of the 2025/2026 academic year with a sample of 90 students selected using purposive sampling. Data collection was conducted through a questionnaire survey in the form of a Google form. The results of the study showed that the level of environmental sustainability awareness among prospective biology teachers was in the high category with a percentage of 75.15%, however the aspect of awareness of sustainability practices still needs to be improved.
