Author Guidelines

Guidelines for research and conceptual papers:

1. The manuscript.

You must ensure that every manuscript of research articles and conceptual articles that will be submitted to the Innovation Social Studies Journal (ISSJ) is in English.

2. The Title

The title should be short, clear, and informative, but does not exceed 20 words

3. The author's name

The author's name is written without academic degrees. Starting from the first name then the last name. after that it is accompanied by institutional affiliation and email address

4. The affiliation

Institutional affiliation must be written to include the country of the institution.

5. Abstract

Abstract must be written in English and Indonesian. A single paragraph of about 250 words maximum: for research articles, abstracts should give a pertinent overview of the work. We strongly encourage authors to use the following style of structured abstracts, but without headings: (1) Background: Place the question addressed in a broad context and highlight the purpose of the study; (2) Purpose of the Study: Identify the purpose and objective of the study; (3) Methods: Describe briefly the main methods or theoretical framework applied; (4) Results: Summarize the article's main findings; and (5) Conclusions: Indicate the main conclusions or interpretations.

6. Keywords

List three to five pertinent keywords specific to the article; yet reasonably common within the subject discipline; use lowercase except for names.

7. Introduction

The introduction should briefly place the study in a broad context and highlight its importance. It should define the purpose of the work and its significance. The current state of the research field should be reviewed carefully, and key publications should be cited. Please highlight controversial and diverging hypotheses when necessary. Finally, briefly mention the main aim of the work and highlight the principal conclusions. As far as possible, please keep the introduction comprehensible to scientists outside your particular field of research.

8. Method

The research method should be included in the Introduction. The method contains an explanation of the research approach, study subjects, the research procedure's conduct, the use of materials and instruments, data collection, and analysis techniques.

9. Finding and Discussion

The results obtained from the research have to be supported by sufficient data.  The research results and the discovery must be the answers or the research hypothesis stated previously in the introduction part.

Authors should discuss the results and how they can be interpreted from the perspective of previous studies and of the working hypotheses. The findings and their implications should be discussed in the broadest context possible. Future research directions may also be highlighted. The following components should be covered in the discussion: How do your results relate to the original question or objectives outlined in the Introduction section (what/how)? Do you provide an interpretation scientifically for each of your results or findings presented (why)? Are your results consistent with what other investigators have reported (what else)? Or are there any differences?

10. Conclusion

The conclusion should answer the objectives of the research and research discoveries. The concluding remark should include more than the repetition of the results, discussions, or abstract. You should also suggest future research and point out those that are underway research limitation.

11. Acknowledgments

In this section, you can acknowledge any support given which is not covered by the author's contribution or funding sections. This may include administrative and technical support or donations in kind (e.g., materials used for experiments).

12. Conflicts of Interest

Author declare conflicts of interest or state, “The authors declare no conflict of interest.” Authors must identify and declare any personal circumstances or interests that may be perceived as inappropriately influencing the representation or interpretation of reported research results.

13. References

The literature listed in the References contains only the sources referenced or included in the article. We recommend preparing the references with a bibliography software package, such as Mendeley, EndNote, Reference Manager, or Zotero, to avoid typing mistakes and duplicated references. Referral sources should provide 80% of journal articles, proceedings, or research results from the last five years. Writing techniques bibliography, using the system, cites APA (American Psychological Association) Style and the 7th edition.

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
