The Kalimantan Social Studies Journal (KSSJ)
The Kalimantan Social Studies Journal (KSSJ) compiles scientific articles focusing on Social Studies Education issues. In particular, this issue covers not only the problem of learning on social studies (Pembelajaran IPS) but also the description of local wisdom (Kearifan Lokal), the value of tradition (Nilai Tradisi), and social phenomena (Fenomena Sosial) that exist in society.
This scientific publication ethics statement is a statement of the code of ethics of all parties involved in this scientific journal's publication process, namely managers, editors, reviewer partners, and authors (authors). The Code of Ethics for Scientific Publications, in essence, upholds three ethical values in publications, namely (i) Neutrality, which is free from conflicts of interest in the management of publications; (ii) Justice, namely giving authorship rights to those who are entitled as authors; and (iii) Honesty, which is free from duplication, fabrication, falsification, and plagiarism in publications.
Duties and Responsibilities of Journal Managers
- Determine the name of the journal, scientific scope, scale, and accreditation if necessary.
- Determine editorial board membership.
- Defines the relationship between publishers, editors, reviewer partners, and other parties in a contract.
- Appreciate confidential things, both for contributing researchers, authors/writers, editors, and reviewer partners.
- Applying norms and provisions regarding intellectual property rights, especially copyright.
- Review journal policies and submit them to authors/authors, the editorial board, peer review, and readers.
- Generate behavioral code guides for editors and peer-to-peer partners.
- Publish a journal regularly.
- Ensuring the availability of sources of funds for the sustainability of journal publishing.
- Build cooperation and marketing networks.
- Prepare licensing and other legal aspects.
Duties and Responsibilities of Editors
- Meeting the needs of readers and authors/writers,
- Striving for continuous improvement of publication quality,
- Implementing processes to ensure the quality of published papers,
- Objectively promoting freedom of opinion,
- Maintaining the integrity of the author's academic track record,
- Delivering corrections, clarifications, withdrawals, and apologies if necessary,
- Responsible for the style and format of the written work, while the content and all statements in the written work are the responsibility of the author/writer,
- actively seek the opinions of authors, readers, reviewer partners, and members of the editorial board to improve the quality of publications,
- Encourage an assessment of journals when there are findings,
- Support initiatives to reduce research and publication errors by asking authors to attach an Ethical Clearance form that the Ethics Clearing Commission has approved,
- Supporting initiatives to educate researchers about public ethics asi,
- Reviewing the effect of published policies on the attitudes of authors/writers and reviewer partners and improving them to increase responsibility and minimize errors,
- Having an open mind to new opinions or views of others that may conflict with personal opinions,
- Not defending your own opinions, authors, or third parties which can result in decisions that are not objective,
- Encourage authors/writers to make improvements to the paper until it is fit for publication.
Duties and Responsibilities of Reviewer Partners
- Get the editor's task to review the paper and submit the review results to the editor as material for determining the feasibility of a written work for publication.
- Reviewers must not review written works that involve themselves, either directly or indirectly.
- Maintain the author's privacy by not disseminating the results of corrections, suggestions, and recommendations by providing criticism, suggestions, input, and recommendations.
- Encouraging authors/writers to make improvements to the written work
- Reviewing re-written works that have been repaired in accordance with predetermined standards.
- According to the published environment, written works are reviewed promptly based on scientific principles (data collection methods, author legality, conclusions, etc.).
Author/Writer Duties and Responsibilities
- To ensure that those included in the list of authors/writers meet the criteria as an author/writer.
- Collectively responsible for the article's work and content includes methods, analysis, calculations, and details.
- State the origin of resources (including funding), either directly or indirectly.
- Explain the limitations of the study.
- Respond to comments made by peer review partners in a professional and timely manner.
- Inform the editor if he will retract his written work.
- Make a statement that the work submitted for publication is original, has not been published anywhere in any language, and is not in the process of being submitted to another publisher.
