Peer Review Process

All manuscripts submitted to Jurnal Ilmiah Berkala Sains dan Terapan Kimia undergo a rigorous peer-review process to ensure that published articles meet the journal’s academic and scientific standards. Manuscripts submitted to the journal must comply with the journal’s focus and scope as well as the author guidelines.

Each submitted manuscript is initially evaluated by the editorial team to assess its suitability for publication, including originality, scientific quality, relevance to the journal scope, and compliance with ethical standards. All manuscripts must be free from plagiarism. Authors are strongly encouraged to conduct similarity checking using plagiarism detection software prior to submission. The editorial team also performs plagiarism screening for all submitted manuscripts.

Manuscripts that pass the initial editorial evaluation are sent to at least two reviewers with relevant expertise in the corresponding field. The journal applies a blind peer-review process, and all submitted manuscripts are treated as confidential documents throughout the review process.

Reviewers are generally expected to complete their reviews within approximately two weeks after receiving the manuscript. Based on the reviewers’ comments and recommendations, the Editors will make the final decision regarding manuscript acceptance, revision, or rejection. Authors are responsible for revising their manuscripts according to the reviewers’ and editors’ suggestions before the manuscript can be accepted for publication.

The corresponding author will be notified of the editorial decision after the review process has been completed. All accepted manuscripts will proceed to the copyediting and publication stages before being published online.

LOCKSS is an open-source archiving system developed by Stanford University Library that enables libraries to preserve selected web journals by regularly collecting and storing newly published content.

The LOCKSS system creates distributed archival copies among participating libraries to ensure the long-term preservation and accessibility of journal content. Each archived file is continuously validated across the network, and in the event that any content is lost or corrupted, it can be restored from other archived copies within the system.
