Abstract

Pal Sembilan Village, located in Sungai Kakap Subdistrict, Kubu Raya Regency, has high biodiversity potential, particularly in tree-habit fruit plants that play significant roles in the social, economic, and ecological aspects of the local community. This study aims to identify woody fruit plants and their value to the local population. The research was conducted using survey and interview methods with a snowball sampling approach. The results show the presence of 48 species from 22 families. A total of 30 species (62.5%) utilized as food sources, while the remaining 18 species (37.5%) are used for non-food purposes such as traditional medicine and handicrafts. All plant species have ecological value (48 species), followed by social value (36 species) and economic value (29 species). These findings indicate that woody fruit plants make important contributions to food security, economic well-being, and environmental sustainability. Local knowledge in utilizing these plants serves as a crucial foundation for sustainable natural resource management.
